Maui X-mas Lighted Boat Parade

NOTICE OF EVENT

 

1.    RULES:  The parade will be governed by the RC Sail of  MBYC and/or LYC. Participants will cooperate with these officials and other participants to create a safe and enjoyable experience for participants and spectators alike. 

 

2.     ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

                2.1 The Parade  will be open to yachts of all classes. All vessels will be properly registered with the appropriate State and County agencies,  be in safe operating condition, under the control of a qualified responsible party, and furnished with safety and floatation equipment  sufficient to provide for all on board.  Participants agree to hold Lahaina Yacht Club and Maui Boat and Yacht Club harmless for any liability, including damages to any vessel, crew or property.  Participants agree that as a Participant, the crew and Participant shall operate entirely at their own risk.  Neither Yacht Club: its officers, board members, or employees; nor any of the organizing bodies, accepts any liabilities for damage (material or personal) suffered during the event or at any other time.  It shall be Participants responsibility whether or not to start or to continue the event.

                      

                2.2 Eligible yachts may be entered by contacting sail@maui.net  or by checking in on channel 71to Parade Committee at 5:30 pm on December 13, 2008.

 

 

3.      SCHEDULE OF EVENTSSaturday, December 13, 2008

 

                4.1 Gathering – 1730 hours at  or near the "L" buoy outside the entrance to Lahaina Harbor.


                4.2 Skipper’s meeting – 1745 hours over channel 71

                                                                                                   

4.3 Parade Start   - 1800 hours with the a short horn blast.  

 

4.4 Parade- Boats will parade in a single file to a point approximately 200 yards off Back Rock turn 180
degrees to  port and proceed to a point approximately 200 yards outside the reef at 505 Front Street
then turn 180 to port and return to the "L" buoy  or thereabouts to finish.
